Days 6-8
Whew! These last few days have been crazy... Saturday, I did school work, went to a wedding and worked on Christmas Shoppe inventory. I made the glass stone ornaments, made a few jute-wrapped ornaments. I traced out and drew the new patterns on the remaining napkins as well.
Sunday, Abigail and I had a great day together. We played, watches movies and cooked semi-homemade calzones. During her much-needed naps, I stitched napkins and cleaned up our messes. We had a great time shopping with Lindsey and then went to dinner with her and Abigail's Uncle Johnny. After Abigail went to bed, I painted the clay birds and glittered them, stenciled and painted burlap for "Merry" and "Christmas" pillows and made jute-wrapped trees.
Yesterday was back to work on the farm... I picked up 4,000 (yes, that many!) onion plants and helped lay the plastic for the rows. Then I went about putting price tags on the Christmas Trees. We had company for dinner and I, then, spent 141 minutes on the phone with Travelocity to get tickets only to gave them tell me to cancel with them and book with the airline! They tell me to cancel and want to charge me the non-refundable booking fee?!?! Get real! Now, things are handled and we're finally good to go! I will never consider Travelocity for any travel arrangements again! I was spending $90 more with them than going to the airline directly. CRAZY!!!
Well, time to get this show on the road. We already picked up a gallon of Egyptian Multiplying Onions in Woodbury and are heading to the farm (minus a pit stop at McDonald's).
Talk to everyone tonight!

Day 5
Today was a laid back day! I didn't get nearly what I wanted done... but there's always tomorrow and Sunday! Plus, I keep finding finding these other great projects to try. I'm killing my own momentum by looking on doggone Pinterest.
Tomorrow morning will start off with some schoolwork and then I'll get busy. Plus, I have a wedding to go to tomorrow night (congratulations to Lori and Jimbo). Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about my weekend.
And I don't want to forget... it's my best friend's birthday tomorrow (technically it's today since it's 12:20 am)! I hope she has a great day at the UGA-Auburn game. Happy Birthday, Lindsey!!!!!!
Good night!
Steph
P. S. I hope my hubby (Greg) kills a big deer this week!

11/11/11
A little bit of an early post and I'll do another tonight, but there are a couple of things I wanted to say...
First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the greatest Dad in the world! We're very lucky to have you as such a major part of our lives. We love you very much!
Second, I want to thank all the veterans and current men and women who are keeping this country free and safe. I am proud to be an American and am truly thankful for each person who made and makes that possible. I salute all the heroes of this world today (and everyday)! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and God bless you all! Happy Veterans Day! Steph

Day 4
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my sewing machine! I played with it all morning (after I figured out the thread tension was too high) and made some really cute tea towels. At one point, I cut up Abigail's old clothes and used them for the fabric I didn't have. Half the penguin towel is made from a obedience and a pair of her shorts! Desperate times, and all...
Now I'm working on some cute napkins with holiday sayings (the one I'm working on now says "SNOW"). They're taking a little longer than I expected, but that's ok! I can work on them at night while watching tv.
Well, I need to get back to my napkins! Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday and I'm going to be at the farm celebrating with the family, so I need to get a bunch done while I can.
Buenos noches.

Day 3
Wow! What a day... I worked on a few projects this morning and took Abigail (my daughter) to het Grandpa so I could work on a few tedious things today.
I made candles (the Carolina Sapphire ones aren't my favorite) and molded and baked the clay items. These are much more difficult than I expected and my hands are KILLING me! My husband came by and we went hunting at the farm... with no luck. All we saw was a cat. Seriously??
Tonight, we went to eat at Grandma and Grandpa's (my wonderful in-laws) and I got a crash course in using a sewing machine. How pitiful that I don't even know how to do that? Well, no longer! I am armed and ready thanks to my fantastic mother-in-law, Sandy. Maybe now I can do something with all the fabric I bought so long ago...
Tomorrow, I am conquering my "new" sewing machine (thank you, Sandy!) and decorating tea towels and linen napkins! So pumped to see how this works out!!!
'Night, y'all!

Day 2
The taco soup tonight was phenomenal! Nothing was left after the guys got into it.
Well, I'm off to bed! Tomorrow I'm tackling clay... we'll see how that goes.

Day 1
Well, today was a both easier and more difficult than I imagined. The fabric trees were fairly easy (once I figured out I needed to cut a little different). Even the fabric I thought I'd have the most trouble with was pretty easy. Of the course it was the only one that went smoothly. I still need to put embellishments on them, but so far there are 6 made (I ran out of poster board).
With the remaining pieces, I fashioned additional, smaller trees to make other items. I decided to make tissue trees (courtesy of a pin on Pinterest) and jute and ribbon wrapped trees. I'm really looking forward to it all. I didn't realize it would take so long to cut up the tissue and get them twisted up! Good grief! I have a cramp in my left thumb.
I can't wait for tomorrow... I'll be tackling the wreaths, burlap ornaments and beaded ornaments too.
You know, the best part out of all this is that I have had the chance to spend the entire day with my little girl. She's so funny, except when she tries to steal the scissors.
Dinner was great tonight... I cooked my sister's Spaghetti Pie recipe but added a little something extra that really knocked it out of the park. Pepperoni! Who knew?! I'm really excited about tomorrow's meal: taco soup. I haven't made it in forever... it's so yummy!
Well, it's time to pay attention to some MNF. Go Bears!
Till tomorrow, y'all!

one homegrown girl goes a little crazy on pinterest
- candles with Carolina Sapphires (trees we grow) in the base for the scent
- fabric covered trees
- glitter trees
- burlap wreaths
- clay bird ornaments and place markers
- glass bead covered ornaments
- burlap ornaments with initials
- tea towels with various Christmas designs
- monogrammed linen napkins
- and I think that's it...
How crazy am I??? I guess I can blame BHG do-it-yourself magazines and ESPECIALLY pinterest for all my projects. The trunk of my car is overloaded with craft supplies and my daughter is exhausted from the shopping we did today! I still need to make a few more trips to the store.
Keep posted and see how much I can get done in a week's time!
